Ray Ray Goes West //

MY Oh MY what a stylish, hectic, dreamy past couple of weeks I just embarked on!!! I learned so so much about the ever changing fashion industry. I interned for International Brands in America's showroom in the lovely fashion district (LA), also, was blessed to attend two women's trade shows in Las Vegas & the big apple NYC. Special thanks to the girls at IBIA and Mr. Perlman himself for making me feel welcome & driving me to be a fab sales gal! I met some lovely, inspirational people along the way, even picked up some British manners!!!

Let's start at the beginning though... Day 1.

First time flying solo, rockin the fur and combats -- airport swag. After some unfortunate events early that morning, and the threat of snowfall coming for DC, I was determined to catch a standby plane. I sat praying for my name to be called when an older lady struck a convo with me about my coat, the conversation flowed from topic to topic and after a couple minutes she paused. She told me she believed I deserved her top-spot standby seat on the plane, and I was whisked away to take that last seat. The little girl inside me believed God sent her as one of many guardian angel along my journey. In disbelief i accepted that moment and took my seat...take off.......

There's no feeling like walking out of LAX. I met up with my dear fashion soul sister Felicia & went straight to the showroom. Day after day I was taught the ins and outs of the various UK brands they carried, including top brands Desigual, Sugarhill Boutique, Little Mistress, DEX and many more!! I made phone calls, organized by seasons, and packed up for the coming week of tradeshows!

LA weather is to die for! I shopped Melrose, caught disco fever at a Club Called Rhonda, and admired the crazy obsession for booties and healthy living... *sigh* LA style!

Day 4!........they really mean it when they say what happens in Vegas stays in vegas! But the drive there was mesmerizing...these photos tell all ☺

Located at the Las Vegas Convention Center, MAGIC is one of the largest fashion trade shows in the US. My booth was Sugarhill boutique & Poppylux!!! Based in the UK, sister & brother duo Aleks & Pawel created a flirty whimsical brand that quickly drew attention worldwide! Known for their loud colors in Poppylux and storybook hand-drawn prints in Sugarhill, I had the honor of working beside them and their lovely employee Tish at Magic!!! Check out these exclusive pics from my days in Vegas!!

after the show...

The first thing I was told about these trade shows was it was long hours, hard work, and fast paced! Right down my alley, my Arian spirit was able to network & keep my quirkiness alive in the process! I won't lie I was exhausted after those couple days...but NYC was calling my name!!!
Day 10...RayRay goes Midtown New York New York!!!

Co-te-rie // noun // an intimate and often exclusive group of persons with a unifying common interest or purpose.

This word not only beautifully describes my trip but it is the name of the tradeshow held at Javit's Convention Center in NYC. Here I repped the 2-year Draper's award winning brand Little Mistress! Little Mistress is featured on ASOS.com & ModCloth.com, as well as magazines like InStyle & Cosmo!!! They even had actress Natalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) rockin their looks on the red carpet!! Check out some of their gorgeous gowns and special event dresses HERE!

Interning as a sales gal taught me to never loose my outspoken spirit, because one sale, one smile at the right person, one perfect fuzzy mint sweater....or award winning brand can attract the perfect retailer or buyer! I'm happy to be home...I'm so inspired to continue to be myself & push for that fashionista dream.

Cause dreams are definitely worth persuing...DAMN!!!! what a cool beginning-- xox❤
